HK Holden Monaro

In 1968, the year the Monaro was launched in Australia, this car won Bathurst ( then the Hardie-Ferodo 500) – and was driven by Bruce McPhee and Barry Mulholland*, who defeated both the Holden and Ford factory teams.

*Mulholland was the co-driver only because the race rules stipulated each team had to have two drivers. He drove one lap in the middle of the race, just to tick the box and became the holder of the record for fewest completed laps to win a Bathurst 500.
